Safety at Badger
A calmer space still needs active guardrails.
Badger is designed for teens who may be dealing with bullying, exclusion, or social stress. The product should feel private and supportive, while still giving moderators tools to respond when something looks unsafe.
What Badger is for
Badger helps teens talk through hard moments with Meli, write privately in Dear Me, and find anonymous support in Stories.
It is not a replacement for emergency services, therapy, school counselors, parents, guardians, or trusted adults. If someone may be in immediate danger, they should contact local emergency services or a trusted adult right away.
What stays private
Journal entries are private to the account owner. General moderators should not have broad journal-reading access.
Anonymous community posts are anonymous to other users, but Badger keeps backend traceability so moderators can investigate reports and abuse.
Moderation
Community posts, replies, reports, crisis events, and user restrictions are backed by moderation tools and audit logs.
Users can report content privately. Duplicate reports are handled safely, so retrying a report should not create confusing repeated actions.
Beta safety approach
During beta, the tester group should stay small, reports should be reviewed closely, and safety edge cases should be fixed before wider launch.
Before a larger rollout, Badger should complete a security review, accessibility pass, safety escalation review, and finalized legal/privacy language.
